Draft predictions!!

Well the WWE draft is upon us and one things for sure, someone big is going to Smackdown. Who's it going to be?Mmaybe WWE is playing games with us. For example, if you type in wwe.com/superstars/smackdown/johncena and what do you know!? It comes up with John Cena's profile rather than an error message. Now try wwe.com/superstars/raw/christian .... 404 error. Now that folks is very interesting... particularly as he is also advertised to appear at the Smackdown taping the following night. Perhaps this is WWE trying to tease IWC members. Maybe Cena will be drafted to Smackdown, it would certainly boost ratings for the show and theres a big Edge/Undertaker sized hole to fill week in week out. Another theory might be that he goes to Smackdown for a night, only to get drafted back a week later... I seem to remember that happening... maybe with Shawn Michaels. I just don't see Cena being drafted from the top rated show to Smackdown. Anywho, predictions you say? Lets do it.

Smackdown picks:

Randy Orton: Who better to fill that Edge shaped hole then one of the biggest stars in the business today. Orton would have some nice fresh feuds on that brand. Arguably, the biggest star behind Cena (maybe The Miz now?) it makes sense for him to move. How much sense does it make for them to draft Cena to Smackdown? With The Rock inevitably coming back multiple times to keep the spark behind their Wrestlemania 28 feud alive... I just don't see that happening on the 'B Show.' I don't believe Cena is going anywhere, Orton is the one.

The Miz: This may surprise people.... it relates to a draft pick for Raw... so keep your eyes peeled.

Sheamus: Its quite unbelievable how far Lobster head has fallen off the map on Raw. Despite being a two time WWE champion, the current United States champion, he wasn't even featured on the Wrestlemania card. He needs a fresh start with new opponents.

Zack Ryder: This is more of a hope than anything else. Tag teaming with Curt Hawkins, there was potential. Back in the old WWECW, the show was all about him for while. With the cancellation of WWECW, Ryder became a bit of a non existant member of the Raw roster, competing mostly on Superstars and sometimes... not even being on TV at all. WWE is a character driven business and if they want entertainment they need look no further than Long Island Iced Z. I'll admit, I've been all over his nuts since he debuted his youtube show which gets better and better each week. He's trying to get himself over and that is credible and he does an amazing job. Hell, he's more charasmatic, and more entertaining than about 3 quarters of the main roster and he can 'go' in the ring. Draft him to Smackdown, as a face... and get him in the US title picture. A feud between him and Sheamus could be an entertaining couple of months. He's made alot of new fans just from them youtube shows, as well as half of the roster touting him as amazing.

Daniel Bryan: Another case of falling off the map. I think Bryan would definately suit the blue brand better than he does Raw. Smackdown is more the WRESTLING show than Raw and he and WWE could benefit from having Bryan drafted. Bryan has the ability to go out and put on great 20 minute matches with just about anyone on the Smackdown roster and it would be nice to see him on TV again. Make it happen WWE.

Raw Picks:

Alberto Del Rio: Apparently Del Rio is currently pencilled in to face Cena at Summerslam... Could be a great feud... but its gonna take place on Raw. Del Rio will come over as the World Champion while Miz will go over to Smackdown (turn face btw) as WWE champion. Crazy prediction? Perhaps, but thats half the fun.

Wade Barrett: Lets face it, The Corre has been booked like crap... one week strong, the next week poorly... and now they're teasing a break up. Its time for Barrett to become a singles star and with Sheamus going to Smackdown, this would mean another championship would change brands. It'd certainly generate excitement.

Jack Swagger: I think they're beginning to build Swagger up as a potential championship threat again. With Michael Cole being his heat magnet (similar to what Vickie does for Dolph Ziggler) It's not difficult to see a change of scenery for Swagger, he could even turn on Cole at Extreme Rules and be in for a pretty big face push. This is another case of re inventing a talent that NEEDS to happen.

So what do you think? What are your picks, let me know on FB, Twitter or in the comments below.

Thanks for reading! I'll be back tomorrow hopefully, with Raw thoughts. Though I am working on a Uni essay, which might burn me out.

What's up R-Truth?

R – Truth.

I’ve never considered myself a fan of the guy. Truth isn’t bad on the mic, but he’s never been that great either. In the ring he has some flashy offence, however, he can be accused of being sloppy and completely missing some of his moves. His theme song also annoys the shit out of me. In the words of Ghandi, ‘Truth stands, even if there be no public support. It is self-sustained.’ Truth has been drifting, going through the motions with little to do for months… Until Mondays Raw.

Was it the greatest heel turn ever? Heck no. Truth and Morrison on the stick together to open the show was an absolutely terrible idea. For someone who’s been in the WWE for so long, it never ceases to amaze me how shocking John Morrison is as a talker. Its one of the main reason (as well as his backstage issues) I feel he wont be WWE champion for quite sometime. The post match beat down went on far too long and you could sense the audience losing interest towards the end. What the segment did achieve however, was making R-Truth interesting.

Smokers are frowned upon in today’s society and I thought the whole smoking angle played out very well. Sure, the “that’s illegal” and knowing “think of the children” chants in the audience were hilarious (us Brits, eh?) and almost took away some of its effectiveness but, as Truth was leaving the arena the fans were booing him like crazy. We’ve already seen anti- smoking and parental groups complaining about the effect the ‘cool outlaw’ could have on children… alls I can say to them is a big fuck you.

In addition, I thought Truth played the ‘breaking man’ extremely well. His expressions and mannerisms in accompaniment to his creepy embracing and stroking of John Morrison (no homo) were excellent… it’s just a shame the segment went on for so long.

So what was the point in adding Truth to the WWE title match, only to take him out of it the week after? There are a couple of realistic scenarios. Perhaps, it was to set up this exact character change. It set up a situation that allowed it to happen; it could be as simple as that. WWE could shake up the title match again next week on Raw and make it a fatal four way. The draft next week is a really interesting prospect… mainly because I have an idea that makes me feel a little sick. I think WWE plans on putting the belt on R-Truth.

Ok, now that we’ve all cleared the barf away, lets break it down. Edge retiring from WWE leaves a MASSIVE hole on Smackdown. One of the top faces on Raw are absolutely going to be drafted to the blue brand. Could it be John Cena? It would give him new feuds and fresh matches, moreover, John Cena is advertised to appear at the Smackdown after the draft. Now, while he sporadically appears on Smackdown, it seems a little coincidental, no? Ok ok ok, I don’t think Vinnie Mac will risk drafting his top star from his top show. Randy Orton or perhaps a heel like Sheamus could be drafted with one of the current faces on SD stepping up their game to take Edges place. There has been talk of turning The Miz face in future so therefore drafting Cena to Smackdown might not be such a risk after all. Raw is lacking in main event heels at the moment and R-Truth could have fresh feuds with Morrison, The Miz and John Cena… it makes horrible, horrible sense. With correct booking and build up, R-Truth could eventually pose a legitimate threat to the WWE championship.
The Truth has had a main event run in TNA (including a title reign) and he has been in multiple world title elimination chamber matches, technically, he’s experienced enough for the next level.

I don’t WANT R-Truth to be challenging for the title, I’d much prefer Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk (realistically) Daniel Bryan or Zack Ryder (unrealistically) challenging for the title. However, there’s a reason WWE decided to dedicate a solid half an hour to a superstar not included on the Wrestlemania or Extreme Rules (as yet) cards. WWE has something big in store for R-Truth. Lets just sit back and see how this plays out.

Now that’s the truth.

Thanks for reading. Bit rushed and written late today… so I hope I’m coherent enough. Feedback on facebook or twitter is absolutely welcome, or, leave a comment below.

TNA - No star is bigger than the company/ A look at age.

“TNA brought in two rock stars, and look at the company now! Dixie often points out how hiring Jeff Hardy and RVD started a whole new era, why do some of the wrestlers not see it? Too, young, too green, too selfish to have the correct perspective. Whereas some of the TNA "stars" are lucky to get recognized walking around the studios, Jeff and myself live like actual celebrities, signing autographs and taking pictures EVERYWHERE we go.” "This is a very exciting time. More people watching TNA means more people exposed to the other wrestlers on the card too...as long as they're good enough to hang around with the rising standards."

"Now I'm a bigger star than the company actually because TNA doesn’t have the name brand recognition yet."

These are two comments from the one and only Rob Van Dam… (or RDV… if you’re TNA t-shirt designers)

I absolutely 100% couldn’t believe my eyes when I read that interview. Rob Van Dam is a part of my top 10 favourite wrestlers, but is his ego that big that he has to go around saying things like that? It’s probably the weed talking to be honest. Either way, that’s a great way to fucking bury the company Rob.

Chris Jericho has said time and time again that TNA will NEVER be competitive with WWE until it BELIEVES it is the number one company. If you mention/take shots at WWE on Impact… that makes you look secondary. If you involve WWE Hall of Fame rings in storylines… that makes you look secondary. If a wrestler believes they are bigger than the company they’re in and the rest of it’s roster… guess what? That makes you look secondary. Hell, it makes you look terrible.

If RVD mouthed off like this in WWE, he’d be seriously de-pushed or perhaps even fired. Being TNA, they wont do a thing. They haven’t even fired Jeff Hardy for the Against All Odds debacle.
Rob Van Dam has lost a ton of my respect.

In addition, Hulk Hogan claimed on twitter a few days ago that he would hire ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage ‘as part of creative, if he could.’ Really Hogan? Really? You just know that he’d step back into the ring eventually and we’d get another addition to the catalogue of wrestlers that won’t grow old gracefully in TNA. TNA love to re-hash the past, they could put on Hogan vs Savage from Wrestlemania 5 in 1989 if they wanted.

Think about it for a second, we’d have Hogan (57), Savage (58), Bischoff (55), Flair (62) and the TNA champion Sting (52) all in top spots in TNA. The key demographic that TNA are going for is of course the 16-35 year olds. How the fuck are we supposed to relate to these guys that are old enough to be our parents or grand parents?

Looking deeper into the roster you’ve got Kurt Angle (42), Jeff Jarrett (43), Scott Steiner (48), RVD/Christopher Daniels (40), Mick Foley (45), Hernandez (38), Abyss (37) and Doug Williams (38). Matt Hardy is 36…

I would love to ask Dixie Carter how she expects to build a wrestling company with guys who aren’t even in their key demographic age bracket. Any poster you see for TNA has Hogan, Flair or Sting front and centre, hardly the faces you want for an edgy and vibrant youth product.

TNA’s main event should be propped up by AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and The Pope (32), Jay Lethal (25), Eric Young (31), Matt Morgan (34), Beer Money (34-35), Kazarian (32), Motor City, (27 & 29) along with Mr Anderson (35)… THESE should be your guys TNA with SUPPORT from some of the guys mentioned above.

Instead we get the old guys front and centre with support from the younger guys.

This brings me back to my original point. RVD claims he is bigger than TNA, Hogan claims in his autobiography that anyone looking to make it big needs “titan training.” In other words, Hogan is of the opinion that anyone who has not been successful in the WWE cannot main event a company, Sting being the exception. He apparently still thinks this way.

I’m of the opinion that if TNA doesn’t bring these guys to the forefront and try to build themselves as the ‘new generation’ of wrestling… they’ll be out of business by 2012.

I’ll be watching Lockdown, it’s usually a decent pay per view (especially in TNA’s early days) and I think they’ll be a couple of good matches. I’m just not looking forward to Ric Flair continue to embarrass himself and blade within 30 seconds of his match starting.

Thank You Edge? Raw Thoughts/review

(I apologise if we’re a bit shitty this week, been doing University work all day and I’m a bit burnt out. Hopefully it’ll be still entertaining)

There’s some giant news coming out of this week’s Raw that I will of course get to later.

We opened this week’s episode with John Cena, who briefly mentions The Rock. He claims that their match at Wrestlemania will be for the WWE title. Talk about unnecessary. Two of the biggest marquee names in the history of the industry and you want the title in there as well? I hope to the wrestling gods (JBL or Ric Flair, depending on who you believe) that the title isn’t online. That would put the entire spotlight on that match; leave some for someone else will you, please? Every man on the roster apparently wants a title shot, and they’re all deserving… but then it happens. It washes over you like a bad smell… no, its not Big Shows tighty whities, it is infact R-Truth’s entrance theme. Five man gauntlet match for the number one contendership, fair enough. More on that later.

WWE shows an excellent vignette for Awesome Kong, flicking the head off a plastic Barbie doll. Tremendous. It shows us that Kong is a force to be reckoned with and that she is an alternative to the current stick thin divas division. Awesome Kong was praised with reinventing women’s wrestling when she was with TNA…. But being TNA they of course screwed it up. I just hope that Kong is used right in WWE as someone who can kick ass and take names all the while NOT being ridiculed for her body image. WWE have two women on the roster who are muscular and CAN wrestle, Natalya and Beth Pheonix. How they rose and fell. Don’t make the same mistakes with Kong, WWE.

Almost as if by coincidence we get a divas match following this. Eve has been champion multiple times, yet, the crowd doesn’t care. In fact, the crowd doesn’t give a steaming turd. I’d go as far as saying WWE has pushed Eve as the face of the Diva’s division and she gets absolutely no reaction. I hate to say it but she’s got to be fucking someone, surely. Is the world prepared for a Bella Twin as Diva’s champ? I know I certainly aren’t, purely because of the horror that’s about to come our way.

This move just absolutely screams ‘transitional champion’ to me. Kong is going to debut soon enough and just absolutely squash Brie Bella. Wait a minute. Did WWE remove the belt from Eve so she wasn’t the one to get squashed? If so, that’s implying Eve – frickin – Torres has some sort of untarnishable legacy? Definitely fucking someone.

I was anticipating Sin Cara’s on air debut to see if WWE have forced him to adapt his style to fit their product. First things first, I saw Primo and instantly thought ‘Job match.’ What we got however, was a lengthy match where Primo got in a lot of offence… perhaps too much. Sin Cara should have got some exciting and dazzling offence in and that should have been it. Over. To make matters worse, Primo slipped on the ropes causing Sin Cara to fall to the arena floor just as he was about to pop off his finishing move. With Vince McMahon allegedly furious about his botched entrance for his on air debut, I’ve already seen people claiming that he’ll never make it big in WWE. Sin Cara doesn’t speak fluent English, he wasn’t sent to train in FCW and has been involved with two clear botches already. I think he should have been sent for some training in FCW for a few months before his debut. WWE is completely different to any other organisation in the world, particularly Mexico. Take all your other accomplishments and throw them out of the window. When you’re in the biggest company in the world, you can’t afford to make mistakes. Do I think that Sin Cara is a future main eventer? Yes, but not for a long time yet. He will be an ideal replacement for Rey Mysterio when the master of the 619 retires, which can’t be too far away now.

Daniel Bryan… How can you not feel for the guy? As I’ve said in previous columns, when given the chance, he’s put on match of the night and match of the year contenders. We get Daniel Bryan chants in arenas across the US when he was fired. Bryan got a nice main event rub on his return at Summerslam, he won the United States title and he was over with the crowd… things were looking good for the American Dragon. Then suddenly, we see him less and less on Raw and he starts competing on Superstars, he gets a ridiculous ladies man gimmick and then abruptly loses the title to Sheamus. The US title match could have been a show stealing match at Wrestlemania but it gets bumped off the card AND NOW…. He’s losing along with Santino, Evan Bourne and Mark Henry in a group called ‘Apple.’ How did WWE manage to drop the ball on this one? Are we seeing the old ‘smaller guys will never be main eventers’ attitude that Vince McMahon mythically has seemed to adopt? Anyway, The Corre win… everyone proceeds to not care.

Michael Cole, who I find ever entertaining, was a bit too much in the following segment. Surely, after years of broadcasting and being in the wrestling industry he can ad lib better than just screaming the same thing over and over again. JR telling the referee to shut up was probably the highlight of what was a weak ass segment. King won with one pathetic looking roll up to continue this war of announcers.

Jack Swagger is another example of the mighty falling. As World Heavyweight Champion he slowly proved himself week by week and became a nice fresh addition to the main event scene. This match made Swagger look terrible, a far cry from his ‘All American’ persona. Moreover, Cole slaps Swagger across the face following the match and we get absolutely no reaction from Swagger. If this is how he is going to be treated they may as well fire him along with Daniel Bryan and Evan Bourne in the upcoming spring clean.

Thank you, Edge. For everything you’ve give us throughout the years. From the innovative tag team matches you gave us with Christian all the way to the Rated R Superstar you gave us from 2005 onwards. I’ve never been the biggest fan of Edge, but I’ve never disliked him either. His character has become stale the past year and he most certainly works better as a heel, but he has worked hard the past 14 years to gather an impressive Hall of Fame career. As soon as WWE announced the speculative ‘Edge career over?’ segment early in the episode I immediately thought WORK, this is an angle 100%. For all I know he could be legitimately injured. However, this ‘retirement announcement’ was sprung on us rather abruptly. He made his announcement on Monday Night Raw rather than his home of Smackdown and WWE was hyping ‘the fall out from Edge’s retirement speech’ for the upcoming episode of Smackdown. Furthermore, elements of the speech just reeked of a work to me. It wouldn’t be a stretch of the imagination to see tears streaming down his face; if he truly is giving up the thing he LOVES to do… not to mention having to give up not of his own accord. If this is a work, there’s going to be some pissed off fans. Almost everyone in the wrestling world be it from WWE, TNA or anywhere else have taken the time to express their condolences for Edge and congratulate him on his career. I’m just not sold on it completely as yet. As far as his title is concerned, he is surrendering it on Smackdown… I 98% guarantee it will be Christian vs Del Rio at Extreme Rules. Edge said it best when he stated that some people think WWE is all ‘smoke and mirrors’ and that it doesn’t hurt…and that they’re wrong. It echoes Mick Foleys sentiment in his book ‘ Have a Nice Day: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks’ - “Lying in a hospital bed in Munich, Germany-seeing my ear being thrown into a garbage can-not being able to take it on the trip back because I didn’t know the German word for formaldehyde. And having a nurse walk into my room, looking at the piece of my body that’s lying at the bottom of the garbage, and saying, ‘Es ist alles schauspiel,’ which means ‘It’s all a big joke!’…So if they show that much respect for other patients, what made me any different? Because I was a wrestler. And professional wrestling will never be respected, no matter how many teeth I lose, no matter how many ears I lose, no matter how many brain cells have to die.” We’ve got to appreciate what these human beings we see on our TV each week do to their bodies in order to entertain us, night in, night out. Edge won’t be gone from WWE for good, I see him either in a backstage role or sort of sticking around, much like HBK has.

For the main event we got the return of The Nexus, they better be used right from here on out. What else did we get? A whole lot of nothing really. I suppose the big news is that R-Truth somehow made it into the main event of a pay per view. Truth did absolutely nothing on the lead up to Wrestlemania and didn’t even get a spot on the card. Who in the blue hell thought he deserved a title shot at Extreme Rules? Wouldn’t it be better to build someone up before putting them in the main event of a pay per view for the top title in the business? Fuck.

I’m returning with a blog on Thursday… just an idea I have.

Thanks for reading. Sorry it was a bit shit this week, I promise I’ll make up for it on Thursday!

Cena/The Rock - Monday's Raw thoughts/review

Firstly, I’ve got some nice feedback which is really appreciated, its nice of people to take time out and just read a good old wrestling blog. Tumblr is a bit shit for things like this, its mainly girls posting naked pictures of other girls… I suppose if you’re into that kind of thing… Anyway, I’m in the process of setting up this blog letstalkprowrestling.blogspot.com … favourite/bookmark it!

The synopsis of last nights Raw was something along the lines of – John Cena confronts The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin appears, Sin Cara debuts and all the other fall out from Wrestlemania 27. It served up pretty much what was promised.

Triple H opens the show and well, he’s either forgotten that a supposedly gruelling match happened last night or he’s forgotten wrestling 101, SELL THE MATCH. Sure, he limps about eventually but it’s too little too late. “You’ll be back, and when you’re back, I’ll be waiting.” Will there be back-to-back Wrestlemania rematches between Undertaker and his opponent? I could definitely see it happening, although that just seems a little lazy creatively on behalf of the WWE. It’s interesting to note that HHH acknowledged their Wrestlemania 17 match in this promo so I think it would be difficult to think of a reason as to why, storyline wise, The Undertaker would grant HHH a third attempt at breaking the streak… Could we see a HHH vs HBK vs Taker at WM28?… It’s nice to think about, though I think the ONLY and I mean ONLY reason Shawn Michaels would break his ‘retirement vow’ would be to have one last match with his buddy Triple H. The seeds were sewn on the Raw before Wrestlemania.

JR’s commentary was nice while it lasted. One thing that I miss is JR’s nice use of silence. BBQ man allows the viewers at home to soak up the atmosphere of the live crowd by staying silent during entrances and promos, whereas Cole jabbers on unnecessarily. Having JR and King on commentary, if only for a short while, was a nice touch.

I’m mostly outspoken about this, but, I am entertained no end when it comes to Michael Cole’s arrogant asshole heel persona. I laugh out loud multiple times during broadcasts just at the ridiculousness of the things he comes out with. There is no argument that Michael –frickin – Cole (the guy that was raped by Heidenreich) is one of the top heels in WWE at the moment. That’s a testament to how well he has adapted to this role, or, is it a glaring indictment at the quality of superstar WWE has to offer in this transitional period?

I’ll tell you one thing, Booker T is AWFUL on commentary at the moment, just awful. He says some incredibly stupid things such as this gem from last night “Sheamus outweighs Daniel Bryan by 25 to 30 pounds” – There are no words. Your typical small child could figure out that he outweighs him by more than that. Does he listen to himself speak? He should. Booker continuously talks over his fellow commentators, the ring announcer and even wrestlers cutting promos. He needs to step up or spinneroony(!?!?!?) on out of there.

We got a VERY nice tag match between Rey Mysterio/Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes/ CM Punk. Once again Orton gets the win. Cody Rhodes got some good offence in to continue him looking (fairly) strong on top of his Wrestlemania victory. This match was better than about 70% of the stuff we got at Wrestlemania, which is saying something.

AUSTIN… and the Tough Enough cast. They introduce themselves …one…by…one and its painfully slow. A “stun them all” chant breaks out, I proceed to piss myself. Fortunately, The Miz comes out to save the segment.  The Miz ridicules Austin and the Tough Enough cast…. “move buckwheat” gets a BIG laugh and becomes a worldwide trending topic on Twitter. Ok. Now this gets interesting, The Miz challenges Stone Cold to ‘one more run’ which gets a big ‘one more match’ chant from the crowd. More on this later…

Jobber entrance for Evan Bourne (I fear for his job this up coming ‘spring cleaning’) a throwaway match between him and Del Rio and another throwaway match between Morrison/Trish and Ziggler/Vickie…. A whole lot of nothing really… I hope to see everyone involved move on to bigger and better things in the run up to Extreme Rules.

We FINALLY get the Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan US title match, what is there to say about it? Was it given a nice 10-15 minute slot? No, infact it was barely 4 minutes long and Daniel Bryan gets buried even further. I’ve said it before but Bryan was putting on match of the night performances with Dolph Ziggler, Miz, and Morrison and carried Ted Dibiase to possibly the match of his career… Hell his initial match with Dolph Ziggler was voted 2nd in the Match of the Year contest on wwe.com, coming just behind HBK vs Taker 2… fuck! He is over with the fans and has the potential to be one of the biggest stars in the WWE. Sigh.

Sin Cara debuts! He NEARLY tripped over the top rope and had himself a Shockmaster style debut (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kByD3cqlVHY for those who haven’t seen it.)  Still, he did a hilo from the FLOOR over the top rope (ho.ly!) and got in some impressive offence. Mistico goes right after the US title as well, WWE obviously have big plans for him… for now.

I do like Cena’s red shirt, might have to splash some cash on that. Just sayin’. Cena puts over The Miz quite nicely, saying that even though he relies on dirty tactics, he gets the job done, and that’s what its all about. The Rock claims he swallows or something? The big news is that John Cena vs The Rock. Present vs Past. Face of the Company vs Previous face of the company will go down in one year at Wrestlemania 28.

Now, I’ve seen various comments complaining that we have to wait a WHOLE YEAR for the match. While it looks stupid on the surface, stop and think for a second. The Rock has only just come back and while the ratings have spiked during his appearances… they haven’t really hit the dizzy heights of the attitude era. There are perhaps fans that haven’t watched WWE since that era and haven’t heard that The Rock has returned. Announcing the match a year early gives WWE and The Rock plenty of time to hype Wrestlemania and perhaps bring in a whole host of fans to the product that have since left. That’s the sugarcoated story, perhaps. In reality, The Rock has his film schedule and needs to tend to that as well.

Speaking of The Rock, how hypocritical have his promo’s been since he’s returned? ‘The Peoples Champion’ he certainly isn’t. Coming live via satellite multiple times during his ‘return’ and now he’s again going to disappear off the WWE radar busy filming future flops before returning on his white horse of bullshit this time next year. Cena’s promos AND shoot interview words have been BANG ON and this is coming from a big fan of both men.

Remember when I was discussing Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Miz? Can you just imagine if we had Steve Austin vs The Miz… at Summerslam… for the WWE title? I drool at the thought to be honest. We’d have the two biggest names of the Attitude Era competing at (what are supposed to be) the WWE’s two biggest events of the year against two of the biggest stars of this era. If that doesn’t generate massive buzz about your product, I don’t know what will. Steve Austin has recently been discussing a bit of a ‘wrestling itch’ with him coming back to oversee Tough Enough, this must surely have been heightened. It also gives us something big in between waiting for The Rock/Cena. Hell, you could even put Austin vs The Miz on the Wrestlemania 28 card as well. That already gives us potentially:

The Rock vs Cena

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Miz

HHH vs Undertaker

For Wrestlemania 28…… That would be an absolutely HUGE Wrestlemania and the ratings and buyrates would be stratospheric for WWE.

Do I THINK this will happen? Not a chance in hell. It is nice to think about though…

Until Impact!… Thanks for reading.
